Nursing Assistant Salary

Nursing assistants are an important part to the success of a medical faculty and staff of hospitals. Many people wonder when they go into the field to become a nursing assistant, what the salary is. The pay scale for nursing assistants can vary. For most that enter the field of nursing assistants, the pay is of last concern. They also understand that medical facilities ranked nursing assistants as a beginner or entry level position.

When you compare what a certified nurse makes, and a nursing assistant salary, you will find large discrepancies. This can at times cause nursing assistants to feel upset or even angry because of the type of job they do, which is often unappreciated.

For a nursing assistant in the United States and expected salary can range from between $24,000 and $25,000. Obviously that amount will vary by experience and also by the location of the job. It does pay quite a bit more than minimum wage, but it’s still a very taxing job for a human to perform. Once again this seems quite low when comparing what the median salary of a licensed practical nurse makes which is approximately between $43,000 and $44,000.

Does a nursing assistant make much? Obviously not, but many times based on the job they do, and those who are in authority who can offer them more pay, they may have a chance to make a decent living.

Because being a nursing assistant is such a demanding job many healthcare facilities try their best to hold on to the nursing assistants that they have and keep them as content as possible. They understand that having the right nursing staff including nursing assistants leads to the overall success of that medical facility.

Keeping good employees on the medical staff is hard enough the way it is. The competition between medical facilities can grow because of the lack of nursing assistants to help in caring for the duties of the hospital or other medical location. This means that a nursing assistant may be requested at any other location for better pay. If this is the case, then the current facility which is employing a nursing assistant will watch them, to make sure they’re taken care of and treated well to the best possible extent.

I just moved from Kansas to Florida and yes there were plenty of schools in Kansas to go to, but Orlando is a much nicer place to live. I’m a CNA here and have been for 3 years. I love it.
